The Earthen Vessel produces a full line of distinctive redware pottery. Our products include plates pressed into wooden molds, drape-molded platters, and hand-thrown utilitarian pieces. While the forms and designs are based on traditional early American redware, the pieces are not facsimile reproduction; many designs are somewhat more contemporary and colorful. All Earthen Vessel Pottery is dishwasher safe, microwave safe and can be used for eating/drinking.
All of our functional pottery is either sculpted, formed on the potter's wheel or constructed in our wooden molds.As a result, there will be minor variations in size and design. Slip-trailed plates are most closely controlled and vary the least. However, decoration on the hand-thrown forms falls into more general categories, and designs are subject to the discretion of the artist. You are truly getting a one-of-a-kind piece of art!
